Shipping FAQs
We ship all kits at the end of each calendar month. This includes your first order, meaning that if you placed your initial order on January 10, your first kit will ship around January 31.
Because the contents of our kits change every month, shipping all kits in a single batch once per month allows us to maintain a reliable, consistent subscription schedule while reducing waste.
Usually, kits arrive around 4 to 7 business days after they were shipped. Note that we ship from near Washington, DC, so the shipping time can vary depending on how far you are located from us. Please note that USPS does not guarantee delivery times for First-Class Mail, and that sometimes delivery can take 14 days or longer. If 14 days have passed after your kit has shipped and it still hasn't arrived, please contact us to let us know.
To offer the most affordable shipping rates possible, we designed our kits to ship via USPS First-Class Mail, which provides best-in-class pricing for small, flexible envelopes like our kits. USPS does not offer tracking for items shipped with First-Class Mail. If we were to include tracking, we would have to change to a more expensive shipping service which would raise the cost of our subscriptions by nearly four additional dollars. Instead, all subscriptions are covered by our Delivery Guarantee, which gives you peace of mind that we'll promptly make things right if your kit hasn't arrived more than 14 days after it's been shipped.
Because our shipments do not include a tracking number (see the above question), there will not be a change to your order status when your delivery arrives. USPS does not scan our envelopes when they're delivered, meaning your Shop app order status will not update beyond the shipment stage. If you ordered a gift subscription, this means that your recipient's kits are being delivered, even if you don't see the delivery reflected in your order status. Don't worry: in the rare event of a delivery issue, your subscription is covered by our Delivery Guarantee.
All subscriptions are covered by our Delivery Guarantee to give you peace of mind with every shipment. Since our kits don't include tracking, our Delivery Guarantee assures that if your kit hasn't arrived more than 14 days after it was shipped, we will promptly resolve the issue. In the rare event that 14 days have passed after you received your shipping confirmation email and your kit still hasn't arrived, please contact us and we will quickly be in touch with a solution. That's no fun! Fortunately, you can take the following steps to resolve the issue.
- First, we ask that you check your mailbox and any mail you've received recently; our kits ship in small, thin envelopes, and we've found that customers sometimes simply overlook them or mistake them for junk mail.
- If this is your first delivery, we recommend double-checking your order's shipping address; if the address provided doesn't exactly match a USPS-recognized address, USPS may not be able to complete delivery. If you spot an issue with the address, please contact us so we can help. (Note: If you've successfully received a delivery from us before, the address is probably not the issue, and you can skip this step.)
- If everything's been checked, there's still good news: your kit is fully covered by our Delivery Guarantee. If it's been more than 14 days since you received your shipping confirmation (not your order confirmation), please contact us, and we'll quickly be in touch with a solution.
While this is very rare, we know how frustrating it is to order someone a gift that doesn't show up. Note that it can take up to 14 days for a kit to arrive after it's been shipped. If it's been more than 14 days since you received your shipping confirmation email, please follow the steps below.
- First, we recommend asking your recipient to check their mailbox and any mail they've received recently. Because our kits ship in small, thin envelopes, we've found that some recipients have overlooked their kits or mistaken them for junk mail. Note that kits will always arrive in the mailbox, not on a front porch or in a package delivery room.
- Next, we recommend double-checking your shipping address; if the address provided doesn't exactly match a USPS-recognized address, USPS may not be able to complete delivery. If you spot an issue with the address, please contact us so we can help.
- If everything's been checked and the kit still hasn't been found, please contact us to let us know. All subscriptions, including gift subscriptions, are covered by our Delivery Guarantee, and we'll promptly be in touch with a solution.
Please contact us with the new email you'd like shipping notifications to go to, along with the email address you used to place the order. Note that by switching the email address, you will no longer receive shipping notifications or have visibility into the status of your gift subscription.
If you're a monthly subscriber, you can edit your shipping address at any time through the Manage Subscription portal. Your address will update when your next shipment is processed. Note: If you ordered a gift subscription, you must contact us to update your recipient's shipping address. Because gift subscriptions are prepaid, all upcoming gift shipments have already been scheduled with the address you used at checkout; updating the address in your subscription portal will not update these shipments, so you will need to contact us so we can update them for you.
